The 2017 World Series is weeks away, so there’s still time to place futures bets. Wondering which team to bet on? Join us as we break down the top three favourites to win it all, starting with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Los Angeles Dodgers (+300)

The Dodgers (102-57) are at the top of the World Series oddsboard. They’re a team that has experienced the highs and lows of a 162-game season. They went from being on pace to set a new MLB record for wins in a season, to losing 16 of 17 games in September.

The Dodgers have regained their swagger of late, though. They’re 6-1 in their last seven games, and have their offense firing on all cylinders. The Dodgers will finish their regular season by visiting the Colorado Rockies this weekend but will turn around and have home field advantage throughout the playoffs as the top seed in the National League. Watch out for this team of young offensive superstars; they’re likely to go far these playoffs.

Cleveland Indians (+350)

The Cleveland Indians are entering their final series of the season against the Chicago White Sox, and the Indians will hope that their September fortune continues into October. This team has been a force in September. They’re 24-3 as we go to press, and completed a record-setting winning streak of 22 straight games earlier in the month.

By adding veterans like Edwin Encarnacion and Jay Bruce this year, Cleveland brings a deeper offensive bench to go along with a dominant bullpen and reliable starting pitching led by Cy Young candidate Corey Kluber. After coming up one win short of winning it all last year, they’ll look to build on that experience to make the difference this time around.

Houston Astros (+500)

With the third best odds to win the World Series, the Houston Astros (+500) may be the best bargain bet available right now. They’ve put together a 19-7 record in September and seem to be getting stronger as the season goes on.

A big reason for their recent surge has been the result of acquiring long-time Detroit Tiger, Justin Verlander. By trading for the six-time All-Star and former AL MVP, the Astros have assembled arguably the best one-two pitching punch in the Majors, as Verlander joins Dallas Keuchel at the top of the pitching rotation. Since joining the Astros, Verlander has won all five of his starts, and has sported a 1.06 ERA over 34 innings pitched while also striking out over 11 batters per nine innings. Add in another outstanding year by Keuchel, and a balanced offense that features the MLB’s batting average leader, José Altuve, and Houston has the tools to take them far this postseason.
