Horses Betting Rules

Bodog Sportsbook offers fixed odds and futures wagering for the Triple Crown, Breeders' Cup and, on occasion, other Grade I thoroughbred races. If available, these wagers are listed when you select Horse Racing Futures and Props from the left navigation on the main Sportsbook page

The following rules apply when wagering on horses in the Sportsbook:

1. Wagers will be "to win" only and will pay out at the odds you confirm at the time you place your wager.

2. Place, Show, and Exotic wagering is not available in the Sportsbook; if you want to make these types of wagers, please go to the Bodog Racebook.

3. The maximum risk amount for all futures bets is $100.

4. Scratches will not be refunded.

5. Any wagers accepted after the official post time will be deemed void.

6. We occasionally offer head-to-head match-ups between horses; both horses must start for these wagers to have action. The maximum risk amount is $300.

7. You cannot parlay bets on horse races.

8. The Dead Heat rule: when you have a multi-outcome prop or event where two winners tie. If a "Dead Heat" is declared on any event, half of the stake is applied to the selection at the full odds and the other half is lost. If more than two "Dead Heat", the stake is proportioned accordingly (not including sports where you can wager on the draw or tie option (i.e., soccer).

Futures and Fixed Odds Betting Posting Schedule

We offer the latest futures and fixed odds markets every week on all graded stakes and major races.

Futures odds for big races (such as the Kentucky Derby) will be posted every week by Tuesday at 2 PM ET.

Fixed odds betting markets for each of the graded stakes races will be posted two days prior to the race by 3:30 PM ET every week.

Both the futures and fixed odds betting markets will come down Saturday morning or when the track pools open. After that, all races will be available for betting in our Racebook.

Note: If a horse is scratched after the entries are announced, it will be graded “No Action”. All other wagers have action unless otherwise specified.
