An equinox happens twice a year when the center of the sun crosses over the equator.  Something even more magnificent is about to happen for the second time this month: a sports equinox. This is the greatest sports day of the year.

Make no mistake, despite this being the second sports equinox of October, this is a rare event. Since 1971, this is only the 18th time all four North American major sports leagues have crossed paths on the same day. Mark your calendars because on Sunday, October 29, there will be 11 NFL games, 7 NBA games, 3 NHL games and 1 MLB game.
In addition to all four leagues featuring games, all three defending championship teams will be in action – along with this season’s eventual MLB champions. With the New England Patriots, Golden State Warriors, Pittsburgh Penguins, and the eventual World Series champion all in action, it’s a champion day for sports and sports fans. This will present a wealth of sport betting opportunities as well.

NFL Betting:

NFL football betting begins in the morning with the Cleveland Browns and Minnesota Vikings traveling to London, England to battle in another installment of the NFL’s international series. The Vikings opened as 9.5-point favourites.

The NFL schedule wraps up with Sunday Night Football featuring the Detroit Lions and Pittsburgh Steelers in an enticing cross conference matchup. The Steelers opened as 3-point favourites on the road.

NBA Betting:

Both teams from last year’s NBA finals are in action on Sunday. The Cleveland Cavaliers host the New York Knicks, and the defending champion Golden State Warriors welcome the Detroit Pistons to town.

NHL Betting:

One of the three NHL games on Sunday features the defending champion Pittsburgh Penguins traveling to Winnipeg to face the Jets. It’s been an up and down season so far for both of these teams.

World Series Betting:

With the Los Angeles Dodgers losing game 2 to the Houston Astros, game 5 of the World Series will be held on Sunday. The Astros will look to capture their first World Series in franchise history, whereas the Dodgers are making their first World Series appearance since their 1988 championship. Both sides feature outstanding pitching and plenty of offensive power; who will win the World Series?
