Singers in the Spotlight for Weird Super Bowl 54 Props Betting

Demi Lovato, Jennifer Lopez, Shakira all in the Super Bowl props spotlight for Sunday's big game.

As the countdown to Super Sunday continues, bettors can still search for value in the growing list of prop bets for Sunday's Super Bowl 54 matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers. And some of the most interesting Super Bowl Specials have focused on the singing of the US national anthem.

This year, the honor of singing The Star-Spangled Banner belongs to pop star Demi Lovato, marking the 12th time in 13 years that a woman will perform the national anthem at the Super Bowl. Pink and Gladys Knight each turned in speedy performances, with the Empress of Soul's rendition ahead of last year's game timed at just 1:49. Lovato is expected to sing at a slower pace, with -260 odds favoring the two-time Grammy Award nominee to complete her performance in over two minutes.

Lovato is also expected to dress for the occasion, and is pegged as a strong -175 bet on the Super Bowl odds to be wearing a skirt, dress, or gown for her performance. Preparation is not expected to be a concern for the highly accomplished 27-year-old, who is heavily favored with -700 odds to not forget or omit any words to the national anthem.

The performance of The Star-Spangled Banner is also favored to go uninterrupted by protest. While dozens of NFL players have engaged in protests of the national anthem prior to regular-season games in recent seasons, the odds of any player taking a knee during Lovato's performance ahead of Sunday's Super Bowl 54 betting matchup at hard Rock Stadium are pegged at an underdog +400.

Listed as a heavy -250 bet to use a black microphone during her Super Bowl performance, Lovato's expected lengthy performance has also impacted NFL betting action on the field, with the odds of any scoring drive taking less time than the former Disney star takes to sing the anthem pegged at a short -260.

Halftime Show Betting Props Set For JLo, Shakira

Of course, Lovato's singing of the national anthem will not be the only musical entertainment on tap for Sunday's game. This year's Super Bowl halftime show is set to have a very Latin feel with superstars Jennifer Lopez and Shakira headlining.

Famous for her sense of style that has impacted fashion trends for two decades, Lopez is expected to show off some of her favorite looks during Sunday's show, with -160 Super bowl Props favoring the accomplished fashion designer to make OVER 2.5 wardrobe changes during the show.

And unlike the now infamous overexposure suffered by Janet Jackson while performing with Justin Timberlake at Super Bowl 38, the odds of either Lopez or Shakira experiencing a similar "wardrobe malfunction" are listed at a distant +1200.

However, some intriguing odds are available on some very special guests potentially joining Lopez and Shakira on stage. Pitbull, a singer and songwriter who hails from Miami, and who has collaborated on hit songs with both Lopez and Shakira, is a strong -650 wager to make a halftime show appearance.

Enrique Iglesias, who calls Miami home and shared the stage with Lopez on a lengthy North American tour in 2012, is set as  a +500 longshot to appear, while DJ Khaled is reportedly set to perform during the Super Bowl pregame show, making him an attractive +175 bet to find his way to the halftime show stage.

While Jennifer Lopez is often remembered for her performances on the television show In Loving Color early in her career, the odds of any of her friends from the Fly Girls making an appearance lag at +425. And with reports suggesting that preparations for Sunday's show have been marred by feuding between Lopez and Shakira, the odds of the two stars both twerking at halftime are listed at +190.
