The Washington Redskins have had a streaky season. After starting with two losses, then winning four straight, and then failing to win their following two, they’re back on track, coming off back-to-back wins. Their Week 10 and 11 wins came against the Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers and resulted in the Redskins moving up the rankings in the Super Bowl futures market.

Moving On Up

Washington Redskins
This Week’s Super Bowl Odds: +4000
Last Week: +5000

The Redskins are now 6-1-1 in their last eight games. Quarterback Kirk Cousins is playing well (seven touchdowns, one interception in the last three weeks), and the running game is excelling, averaging 127.3 yards per game over their last four. We’ll see how the Redskins measure up against the best team in the NFC on Thursday when they visit the Dallas Cowboys.

Detroit Lions
This Week’s Super Bowl Odds: +3300
Last Week: +4000

Bettors are skeptical about the Detroit Lions because they’ve trailed in the fourth quarter of every game this season. But those stats don’t matter when you’re winning, which is exactly what the Lions have done in five of their last six games. They definitely have some flaws, like their ground game, which currently ranks 30th in the NFL at 79.5 yards per game, but their defense is playing really well, allowing 18.0 points per game over their last four games.

Moving On Down

Green Bay Packers
Last Week’s Super Bowl Odds: +2500
This Week: +5000

The Packers continue to fade from the playoff picture. They’ve now dropped four straight and five of six. Their defense has disintegrated, allowing at least 30 points in five of their last six games, and giving up a total of 89 points in their last two. They allowed an average of 20.8 points per game over their first four contests, but have since given up an average of 32.2 per outing. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers is doing what he can, but it’s become clear he can’t compensate for their struggling defense.

Kansas City Chiefs
Last Week’s Super Bowl Odds: +1600
This Week: +2200

The Chiefs won five straight games before stumbling at home to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. That was their first home loss of the season. The Chiefs are now 2-3 against teams that are currently .500 or better, and are 6-0 against teams with a losing record. That could be a problem given their upcoming schedule. Their next three games are against the Denver Broncos (7-3), Atlanta Falcons (6-4) and Oakland Raiders (8-2).
