As the NBA season approaches, one question on everyone’s mind is whether any team can put up a fight against the historically great Golden State Warriors. One of the best players of all time in LeBron James may have something to say about that.

Bodog Sportsbook is here to get you ready for the NBA betting season with the 2018 NBA Championship odds preview, discussing the top favourites to win it all this season.

Golden State Warriors (-160)

Two seasons ago, the Golden State Warriors set the all-time NBA record for season wins with a 73-9 record. Then, they decided to add arguably the second-best player in the world, Kevin Durant, to their roster, which enabled them to cruise through the playoffs last season. Accumulating the most impressive collection of talent in the league, it’s easy to see why the Warriors are the early favourites at -160 to go all the way this season.

Cleveland Cavaliers (+450)

If you have Lebron James on your team, does anything else matter? He has the ability to carry a team like no one else since the great Michael Jordan and has played in the NBA Finals in seven straight years. Plus, his best friend Dwyane Wade has recently joined him in Cleveland and the king couldn’t be happier.

Boston Celtics (+800)

The new-look Boston Celtics have added Gordon Hayward from Utah and acquired Kyrie Irving via trade with Cleveland in the offseason to stock up on their All-Star supplies. However, they have lost meaningful contributors from last season, such as Isaiah Thomas, Avery Bradley, Jae Crowder, and Kelly Olynyk. If you believe Kyrie Irving can be a true leader on an NBA championship team, take the Celtics at +800.

San Antonio Spurs (+1200)

The Spurs are an old team, but when you have a phenomenal preseason NBA MVP favourite in Kawhi Leonard (+375), anything seems possible. Leonard is the type of player that makes jaw-dropping plays on defense routinely but can also put the ball through the hoop with the best of them. The Spurs may be a good value pick at +1200.

Oklahoma City Thunder (+1200)

Another value team on the NBA futures odds board is the OKC Thunder. Russell Westbrook is still the man in Oklahoma City, but there is plenty of newfound excitement and some questions around this team now that superstars Carmelo Anthony and Paul George are joining forces with last year’s MVP.
