NFL Week 16: Philadelphia Eagles Attempt to Overthrow Dallas Cowboys for NFC East
We’re getting down to crunch time in the NFL, with several critical games taking place in Week 16. The game with the most on the line is an NFC East divisional matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles. The winner of this NFL betting classic will likely capture the division and punch their ticket to the postseason. We’ll break down this game in addition to the other top-10 matchups to get fans ready to bet on the NFL in Week 16.
NFL Week 16 Best Odds and Matchups
Dallas Cowboys at Philadelphia Eagles (Sunday, 4:25 PM ET)
Only one of these two clubs will make the NFL playoffs, and the second showdown between them will likely determine which team that will be. Dallas (7-7 SU, 8-6 ATS) is coming off of a massive win over the LA Rams in Week 15 and have the edge over the Eagles (7-7 SU, 5-9 ATS), having won the first matchup versus Philly. Winner takes all, and the Cowboys are favoured by three points.
Baltimore Ravens at Cleveland Browns (Sunday, 1 PM ET)
The Baltimore Ravens (12-2 SU, 8-6 ATS) haven’t slowed down since clinching first seed in the AFC in Week 14; they clobbered the New York Jets last Thursday and now have their sights set on the Cleveland Browns (6-8 SU, 5-8-1ATS) as 10.5-point favourites. QB Lamar Jackson is firing on all cylinders and owns the best QBR in the league at 81.3.
Arizona Cardinals at Seattle Seahawks (Sunday 4:25 PM ET)
The Seattle Seahawks (11-3 SU, 7-6-1 ATS) have stamped their ticket to the playoffs following their victory over the Carolina Panthers in Week 15, and they’ll have a chance to tighten their grasp on the NFC West lead with a victory over the Arizona Cardinals (4-9-1 SU, 8-5-1 ATS). The Cards have been friendly to bettors this season, and will be well positioned to try to cover the 9.5-point spread.
Los Angeles Rams at San Francisco 49ers (Saturday, 8:15 PM ET)
Following their loss to the Cowboys last week, the LA Rams’ (8-6 SU, 9-5 ATS) playoff hopes appear to be over. The best they can do is tie the Vikings for the final playoff spot, but they’ll need to accomplish a massive upset over the San Francisco 49ers (11-3 SU, 8-5-1 ATS). The Niners are laying 6.5 points to the Rams as the home favourites.
Buffalo Bills at New England Patriots (Saturday, 4:30 PM ET)
The Buffalo Bills (10-4 SU, 9-4-1 ATS) will be back in the playoffs for the second time in three years despite scoring just 20.8 points per game. They’ve thrived off of a second-ranked defense that permits just 15.9 points per game. Their Week 16 matchup will be against the top-ranked defense in the NFL in the New England Patriots (11-3 SU, 8-6 ATS). This could easily be an AFC playoff preview, so their odds on NFL Sunday may be a precursor for the future; the Pats are 6.5-point favourites.
New Orleans Saints at Tennessee Titans (Sunday, 1 PM ET)
The New Orleans Saints’ (11-3 SU, 9-5 ATS) QB Drew Brees is officially the most lethal TD-thrower in NFL history, having thrown his 541st career TD last week. He’ll be tasked with downing a desperate team this week in the Tennessee Titans (8-6 SU, 7-6-1 ATS), who are in a battle for the final playoff spot in the AFC. The Titans will be laying everything on the line and are just 3-point underdogs against the Saints.
Pittsburgh Steelers at New York Jets (Sunday, 1 PM ET)
The other team in that AFC playoff battle are the Pittsburgh Steelers (8-6 SU, 9-5 ATS). They should have a much easier time than Tennessee, however, as they’re up against the New York Jets (5-9 SU and ATS). Despite their lopsided records, the Steelers are miniscule 3-point favourites with a week-low total of 38.
Oakland Raiders at Los Angeles Chargers (Sunday, 4:05 PM ET)
The Oakland Raiders (6-8 SU and ATS) have a slim chance of making the playoffs this year, while the LA Chargers (5-9 SU, 4-8-2 ATS) have been eliminated. Both teams have struggled to cover the spread this season, but they’ll have an opportunity to finally come through on their NFL betting odds when they face off on Sunday. The Raiders are 7-point underdogs.
Kansas City Chiefs at Chicago Bears (Sunday, 8:20 PM ET)
The Chiefs (10-4 SU, 9-5 ATS) are fine-tuning for a long playoff run this winter, and they’ll have another chance to get playoff-ready in the unfriendly confines of Soldier Field. While the Bears (7-7 SU, 4-10 ATS) won’t be making a playoff appearance this season, they’re no slouches and are just 6-point underdogs on the NFL odds board.
Green Bay Packers at Minnesota Vikings (Monday, 8:15 PM ET)
Yet another potential playoff preview takes place on Monday Night Football when the Green Bay Packers (11-3 SU, 9-5 ATS) visit the Minnesota Vikings (10-4 SU, 8-6 ATS). Just one win separates these clubs on the season, so it should be a close one. The Vikings are 5.5-point favourites on the NFL lines to even their records heading into the final week of the season.
