With the Cowboys’ playoff hopes hanging in the balance, there aren’t many bigger games than Sunday’s for Big D. The division-leading Philadelphia Eagles have won seven straight games, and don’t look like they’re ready to surrender a game to a divisional foe. Are you ready for betting on the NFL?
Philadelphia Eagles (-4) at Dallas Cowboys, Sunday at 8:30 PM ET
Dallas needs a win, big time. The Cowboys experienced life without Zeke for the first time this season last week, and without their star running back, Dallas’ offense looked pedestrian at best. They lost 27-7 to an Atlanta Falcons squad that looked destined to miss the post-season just a week prior. Perhaps an even greater hole was that left by injured left tackle Tyron Smith; Smith’s replacement had no answer for defensive end Adrian Clayborn, who tied an NFL record six sacks in a game. With Smith’s status for Sunday still up in the air, it could be a long day for quarterback Dak Prescott against the Eagles.
The Eagles, on the other hand, are coming off of a 33-10 drubbing of the San Francisco 49ers. Despite a mediocre game from the early-season MVP favourite, Carson Wentz, the Eagles still managed to come away with an easy win over the 49ers. Philly continues to play a well-rounded game that is able to beat teams offensively, while also being able to win close games due to their strong defense. If the Eagles beat the Cowboys on Sunday night, it may extinguish Dallas’ playoff hopes.
Tennessee Titans at Pittsburgh Steelers (-7), Thursday at 8:25 PM ET
The Thursday nighter this week features the Tennessee Titans versus the AFC North-leading Steelers. The Steelers will be fielding a lineup that owns the top rusher in the league in Le’Veon Bell (840 rushing yards), and the top receiver in the league in Antonio Brown (882 receiving yards). With those two juggernauts on the field simultaneously, the Titans’ 16th ranked defense will be hard-pressed to defend against both.
Tennessee, in its own right, has won each of their past four games, and are tied with the Jacksonville Jaguars for top spot in the AFC South. The Titans have focused on the run game so far this season, as running backs Demarco Murray and Derrick Henry have formed a legit 1-2 punch in the backfield. If the Titans are able to establish the run against the Steelers’ 11th ranked run defense, this game may be closer than the game line odds have predicted.
Atlanta Falcons at Seattle Seahawks (-3), Monday at 8:30 PM ET
Monday Night Football takes place in the Pacific Northwest, as Atlanta visits Seattle in what feels like another must-win game for the Falcons. After defeating the Dallas Cowboys 27-7 last week, the Falcons are clinging to the playoff picture. They’ll need another big game from their defense on Monday if they hope to come away with a win over the 6-3 Seahawks.
Seattle won an important divisional game last week against their NFC West rivals, the Arizona Cardinals. Now only one game separates Seattle from the division-leading Rams, so the ‘Hawks will be looking to keep Atlanta at bay and secure an important home win.
