Has the NFL season started yet? No. Is it time to discuss some of the more intriguing bets for Super Bowl 52 in February? Absolutely. Check out Bodog’s futures market for odds on each and every team to take home the Lombardi trophy this season.

New England Patriots (+325)

Unless you’re a New England fan, you might be tired of Pats talk, but Bill Belichick and company are once again Super Bowl favourites (+325) this year. Tom Brady has shown no signs of slowing down going into his 18th season, and the Patriots have complemented his outstanding play by acquiring deep threat wide receiver Brandin Cooks from the New Orleans Saints via trade in the offseason. The speedy pass catcher has caught for over 1,100 yards in the past two seasons and averaged an impressive 15 yards per reception catching deep balls from Drew Brees a season ago. With this added weapon, it’s hard to imagine Brady not licking his chops waiting for the season to start. The Patriots are a cut above everyone else in the NFL heading into the season and deserve to be Super Bowl favourites once again.

Green Bay Packers (+800)

Coming in as the second favourite (+800) to win the championship in Minneapolis are the Green Bay Packers. Led by superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers, the Packers need some help from their defense, which is why they have recently inked linebacker Ahmad Brooks as a free agent. Being the most talented QB in the league, Rodgers can make defenses pay with his strong arm and accurate throws and can elevate a skilled offensive player to a great one. Look for the Packers to make some noise this season if they can stay healthy.

Oakland Raiders (+1000)

The Oakland Raiders had a fantastic season a year ago, largely thanks to quarterback Derek Carr, who threw for almost 4,000 yards in only 15 games. Oddsmakers have listed the Raiders as the third favourite to win the Super Bowl at 10-to-1 odds. Last season in Week 16, Carr broke his fibula in a game against the Colts and was done for the season. And this was after amassing an unexpected 12-3 record for his team. If he can stay healthy this season, the Raiders have the opportunity to go all of the way and offer more value than Green Bay and New England.
